The counter runs along the old loading wall, built for a quick order between hands rather than a long evening of its own.
Loose-leaf tea and filter coffee are the mainstay, alongside cold lemonade, mineral water and the usual soft drinks.
There is no kitchen behind the counter and no plates come to the tables — a biscuit is the closest thing to food in the room.
